temp gauge high

haven't looked at them yet, i did change out the computer after I got the truck as the old one was locked up and truck wouldn't start. Been wondering if I should have reset the adaptive values, not that I have a way to do that, but I am seeing random engine misses, and the occasional cyl 8 misfire mostly when the engine is cold. Looks like a new coil pack and new wires too.

Plugged in my reader when i got home and at idle, Short FT is -7.9 on 1 and 4.2 on 2, Have to watch it when I am driving
With outside temps in the lower 50 range, temp hit 224 and then stayed around 193-198 the whole trip home. With a 195 thermostat, looks good (I assume the high reading was an air bubble burp)
Update***
bank 1 ,1 O2 sensor looks to be stuck on 1.02 volts all the time. Bank 0 fluctuates between .04 and .675 which looks normal. guess I need an O2 sensor. probably why I keep getting a random misfire error...

Jeeze!! now I had to go look, and you are right. I never saw that small sensor back there.
In the meantime, i noticed the coolant bottle has a wetness around the center seam, and it was low on coolant. I swapped the pressure cap yesterday thinking it may be the problem. now I am wondering if the coolant tank is leaking(??) time to get the pressure pump out again.

Struggling with same issue
Update 9/27/2020 -
Installed new fan clutch, problem solved.
Running now 188.6 .
>96 Disco (90k miles) sat in my climate controlled garage for about 3yrs (long story) but was running with no issues when I parked it. Never over heated gauge always below middle).
>I decided to pull it out and start driving it again and noticed after about 15mins of driving the temp would begin to rise into red. Turn off AC and it would almost immediately return to just above center.
>Changed all hoses and t-stat (OEM 190 F).
>Same problem except turning off AC did not bring down temp immediately as before or as low.
>I noticed the gauge reading would jump around if I messed with the fan or even applying the center brake. Figured gauge is kaput.
>Hooked up an ODB reader which showed it holding steady @215 and occasionally jumping to 219 if in traffic . The gauge in dash was pegged past RED - this made me uncomfortable 😣. But Truck was running well and no smells.
> Would like it to run cooler so plan on replacing clutch & fan. Also, burp it again.
>Does anyone have a link for “X113” sending unit mentioned in this thread? Can’t find any info on this.
>Seems like everyone has a diff opinion on what coolant to run. I flushed and replaced with Peak Extended life PINK OAT (it listed Land Rover in the label 🤷♂️).
What are you guys running?
