Man you are getting brave. I'm sweatin' getting an '04 because of all the electronic gazzetry, them LR3's would almost for sure be a dealer visit if (HA!) I mean When something goes wrong.

But boy, it would be nice to have something that could actually tow...

We have been entertaining LR3's and LR4's for my wifes next vehicle. She needs all the toys to keep her happy. We are planning on living in the mountains in the next 3-5 years, more precisely build a home off the beaten path so we need to have more than 1 4wd. My only hangup is the routing of the exhaust on the newer ones. I am a clearance junkie as we have boulders here not just rough terrain.

Gadgetry does not bother me, I am a tech and know how to deal with it. Cost of control modules is generally the biggest expense. As for talking to OBD II stuff I have Ross Tech on my laptop so it I can talk to the main components ie ECM and TCM.

Yea I just love them all. I'd have to say the lr3 is probably the most capable stock and, with no need for a lift you don't sacrifice ANY on road handleing
