The douche pool is so deep, it just sucks them in.
Resist, fight the power, never surrender, stiff upper lip, cheerio and all that sort of rot.
I succumbed to a dalliance with a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado, and you talk about a trouble ridden piece of shiot car, it makes the Disco seem downright dependable. The junkyards are full of Cadillacs, though, so parts are easy to get.

The douche pool? Really dude? My truck was a purpose built offroad truck and it succeeded at that very well but it wasn't practical for what I need. Talk **** if you want but I bet I've turned more wrenches on a Rover than you will ever imagine, just ask some of the guys that have been here more than 3 monthes. I got a very fair price for the MASSIVE amount of time and money I invested in it so I sent it on down the road. If you don't like it go sit on one.

Every D1 behaves slightly differently, but you should not need a DC front shaft with that setup. The need for a DC front shaft would manifest itself in the form of vibration and premature wear on the front u-joints.
