Default Which thermostat?

I’m getting a 180. But which one, and from where? No to motorad; I’m clear on that. Otherwise any one I can find will do?

For example, this one? Listed for a Disco II but will it work for ours???

Or should I just get a thermo and install into the existing housing…?

The Genuine Land Rover t-stat is great IMO. Stick with that and you will be fine. D2 has a different set up than D1.

Any 180F with a jiggle pin works fine.

The Stant 45858 is my preferred t-stat.

I also use the Stant 45858, which is a 180 degree thermo. I installed it around 5 years ago and it's still going strong. The Stant 45858/Nissens 64029 radiator combo keeps me in the high 170, low 180 range.

I can't seem to find a 45858 online from the usual suspects? Are there any decent alternatives?
My water pump imploded yesterday. Luckily I was 250 yards from my destination!
Ordered a FlowKooler replacement and a Hayden 2991.

Ya, I wonder if they discontinued that part #? I did find it at RockAuto. They only have one on a wholesaler closeout for $1.81. Grab it quickly!

Damn missed it. That was listed as a Motorad? I thought those were to be avoided or are they the same?
