I was checking out my cooling systm and it looks like my thermostat might be backwards. I really cant make sure of it looking at the rave manual soni was wondering if the spring part goes into the manifold or towards the upper radiator hose. Looks like if the spring is inward towards the manifold it might be backwards.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks...

 

The spring should be towards the rear of the vehicle.. The flatter side goes towards the upper radiator hose.

 

And if the round disc body of the t-stat has a hole with a little metal thingy in it(it should), it's to be placed up at the 12 o'clock position
