Are these temperature readings normal?
I've posted before that my 94 is overheating. With the high temperatures the problem has returned. Every thing we can think of has been attempted: radiator rodding, new electric fans (AC), new water pump, radiator, etc.
My former mechanic (he got deported) kept swearing it couldn't be head gaskets or anything engine related because sometimes the temperature would not get past the "9 o'clock position".
A new mechanic started by using a thermometer to see what temperatures the truck had after reaching operating temperature. This is my question, are these readings normal?
211 degrees (F) when pointed towards front of engine, about where distributor is.
205 degrees when pointed toward radiator from engine side.
365 degrees when pointed at left catalytic converter.
383 degrees when pointed at right catalytic converter.
If any of this is not normal, could it be the cause of the overheating?
Thanks

Does it overheat on the highway or just at idle? Does the clutch fan spin. At this point it could be the heads from the shear point of overheating them so much they will start to leak and warp anyway.
