Default Is these normal???

Hi There, Newbe here...

Just purchased my first Land Rover...2002 Discovery II SE. After a few days of regular driving I jump on the freeway... Wow, this is funny... 65mph...no problem, 70 mph...no problem, 75 mph.... starts a whinning noise, 80-85 mph... noise stops. Ok, go back to dealer and ask what the heck.... Two different people there told me this is a normal sound/noise for AWD.

Is this true?

Thanks for any info...

gears usually....everything goes through the transfer box, that can be a little noisy....just gear whine, you dont notice it on most cars, but this is a true truck and it will ride and sound like one....

Usually this can be considered to be a normal noise, depending on what you are hearing. The t/case is usually the problem, too much end play but it won't fail on you.
How many miles on the truck?
You might want to consider changing the fluid in the t/vase and both diffs, depending on where you live, a little heavier oil will make a difference.
