Default Throaty exhaust/power mods

Has anyone ran a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler on their Discos to get a deeper tone to the exhaust?. I dont want obnoxious sound because I like to cruise out but I do want a lower deeper sound. Also besides a good tune up, 8mm wires, High flow air intake etc etc what are some other tricks to getting a little bit more power from our V8's without internal motor upgrades like a cam etc?. What "Bolt on" stuff can we do to get a little more?. Would deleting the cats and getting the exhaust freed up bring anymore ponys to the table?.

You're not going to squeeze any extra power out of that D1. You can get a little sound out of the exhaust, but don't go dumping money drying to make the butt-dyno happy.

I replaced my exhaust with a full SS magnaflow (mine rusted out) and hi-flo cats (cheaper). Sounds good. Not loud at all. But as for performance, that's what CDL and 4LOW are for.

Yeah I installed a GReddy turbo in mine, also I had lambo doors installed for aerodynamics. I added a shark fin antenna for the extra "oomph!" and if my research and background history has anything to do with it (or this post) adding aftermarket stickers add about 5hp ea I believe, try to get on that says I <3 my Rover and I think it's an extra 10HP.

SA post I know but I just read something like this on Honda-Tech hahaha

I've wondered about getting a little better sound out of mine as well, But I'm really afraid of chopping on my Y-Pipe.

A good friend of mine has headers on an old 3.5L 1975 Range Rover he owns, and that sounds completely bad ***. I don't really care about more power, these things are slower than hell as it is.

The funny / sad thing is... I believe every bit of that is completely true / possible.

I found the easiest way to get good power and take off speed was to buy a Disco with a 5speed manual tranny...

Clearly, you've never had one mated to an 8.13:1 3.9.

I could get passed by a kite.
