Default Tie/Stearing Rod

I have a 98 Discovery that was hit by a large deer while being towed. The deer bent the tie rod in the front. Not bad, but enough to where you can see it. Will newer model tie rods fit the 98? Like one from a Discovery II? Or is it better to get one from the year of the truck? Is the more money I spend on a new one going to be better than going cheaper on the part?

Discovery 2 one will not fit.

options:
>pick and pull find a discovery 1 one
>paddock spares buy parts for one, either just buy the tie rod and new joints or the rod itself. Lemforder tie rod ends are the OEM.

Really not hard
