Tires, Shocks, Springs, etc. I don't know.
I swear, every time i get the notion to do something to my D1, I read this forum and get the heeby jeebies!
Since i've only been driving this thing since March, I'm still in discovery mode..... ha ha. but seriously, i am trying to learn more about what i have.
Just before I traded for the D!, the PO put new tires on, 235/85/R16, for a 32" stance. The PPO installed the medium OME shock/spring kit in 2007. Would these, given that there are many, many factors to consider, do 11 year old shocks need replacing? Why isn't there more lift from the springs? It looks like there is a lift. the data i have is from a DII, Does a stock DI sit lower? Maybe 2" lower? I love the stance, im just curious about what i have.
Measurement from the center of the hub to the top of the wheel well is 20", exactly. This doesn't seem to be quite high enough- reading on this forums says stock is 19.7" Does this sound right? Also, even with the OME springs and skinny tires, i sill have tire rub on the radius arm when turning left.
Im not super concerned, as it's only in the tightest turning and the tires look stupendous on the truck, Im really looking for thoughts on the tire size. I've been reading a lot here and not one other person has mentioned this size, though there seems to be some consensus that skinny is good, especially off road and deflated.

Lift won't effect the rubbing on the radius arms that is a issue with turning radius. It helps with not rubbing on your fenders lol.
After 11 years the shocks are likely tired. Also I don't think the OME mediums were much more than 1.5" of lift. You could add the spring isolators for an extra .5" or full on spring spacers.

correct. Mediums are listed as 1-2". i don't know the stock D1 height, so i dont know if there is any lift at all from them. other places in this forum mention the distance- at least for the D2, is in the Rave manual but i cant find it for the life of me. that thing is as convoluted as the wiring in my D1.
i have the ome medium springs and shocks on my 97,it's a 3 inch lift with the shocks,i run 255/70/16 size michelins and there's no rubbing,i also have a bilstein steering dampener,those nitrus filled shocks are a nice addition,don't know which brand is best but i'm happy with mine! whichever one's you choose you won't be unhappy with the results
