Default Tray back build

So I have this rusty *** disco that (was) running like a champ. Nobody wanted it so I figured may as well build something fun out of it. Went to move it today and now it wont start - tried jumping it but it seems as the starter isnt getting enough power and it's making the dreded clicking.. - Will figure that out later though..

So I tore out all of the interior and prepared it for the chop. I am going to hack off as much as I can before I start to clean it up and start the welding.

Here is what was removed today

Here's the "plan"

I love the riveted body panels haha so awesome

Pretty sure the security ECU was bypassed?? Is this possible? I found it in a box in the back of the truck and the harness is cut and spliced all over the place - it's a mess..

Other than that - I am excited - gonna start really cutting into it tomorrow.

Eh this truck probably wont be a "serious" trail rig like my white truck but one that I can bounce off trees, rocks, try hill climbs I shouldnt and get stuck in the woods. I guess it's built more for trials or challenge events in mind. I hope to make it street legal but with all the requirements to pass inspection here in PA it may not be easy.

and a disclaimer - this project is not a serious build by any means, it's all just for fun

What kind of shape is the rear door in? The PO decided to use my spare tire as a bumper.

It's in great shape except the handle sticks - are your hinges bent or is the door bent? What color is your truck?

I planned on reusing the rear door as the back of the cab to keep some of the original disco look and cut back on costs

I should also add I have a head liner in great shape out of this truck I wont be needing. If anybody needs one $50 takes it - PM me for details. Local pick up only

I say hack the **** out of the doors and body panels and put the biggest tires you can find on it. Then go beat the **** out of it like they do across the pond.

the panel is actually pushed in just enough that it irritates the crap out of me and I'd rather just replace it before I repaint the truck than have to f with pulling it out. The truck is red atm. I'd ask you if you wanna swap but i just replaced the window gasket. I'd prob have to bust the glass to get it back out. If you decide you want to get rid of it for a few bucks let me know.

Good luck with the build

Thanks - You should try contacting Randy Williams in Lancaster

usedroverparts@yahoo.com - He has tons of D1's right now and I am sure the price will be worth the trip.

You get the idea. Minus big tires - I think the answer is more gas pedal
