So I recently finished a rebuild and I had everything back together and fired her up. All went fine. I just installed a new y-pipe with new cats, and reused my original O2 sensors. They only have a few hundred miles on them. I fired her up and noticed it was a little rough; it was not like this when I cranked it after the rebuild. No check engine light so I took it around the block for a spin. By the time I got back it was running bad, and oil pressure had dropped very low at idle. I hooked up my scanner and got a few pending codes.
Did you check all the easy stuff? All your connectors back in place correctly? Plugs in? Wires all connected to the plugs and coil pack? 02 sensors securely connected (though generally if they aren't you throw an 02 heater code since that wire wouldn't be giving feedback).
I'm going over it again, but it my thinking is that I may have a bad o2. I ran it with just the headers on and it was as smoth as it ever has been, just supper loud. Then I put on the y-pipe and o2s and it all when to hell.
I'm also having a heck of a time keeping oil pressure at idle. Driving I have good pressure but at idle the light will filicker and Gauge will read 5- 2 psi. I am running a wix 51515 filter and rotela 15w-40 oil.
Ok, so when I did the rebuild I installed new plugs (NGK), STI wires, and new coilpacks. I have swaped plug with 2,4 and 6,8 along with the wires and coil and the issue does not follow.
I also intalled new injectors with volvo injectors, I have not yet swaped injectors with others yet, will do that today.
