I was terrified I burned them up until I pulled the inspection cover. I saw no visible damage nor found any large chips or chunks of metal. Flushed and filled the t case a bit earlier. Used Lucas 85w-140 and also greased my u joints since I was freezing and under the truck anyway. Long story short...

SHE LIVESSSSS!!!!!!! No odd noises, no whine, clank, nothing. Drives like a dream. I seriously feel like I win the lotto that I didn't grenade the case or trans. As I said I the OP it just so happened to decide to give out about 25 ft from my parking spot.

Thanks again Guys. You helped me think when I was in panic mode. The wife can now have her tiny car back.

wow I guessed right again lol, glad it worked out for you keep an eye on that fluid, there may be damage unseen like to bearings etc. so if you start having trouble again it may warrant another transfer case

Definitely keeping an eye and ear on it. Luckily my buddy just picked a parts truck with a blown motor to replace stuff thieves made away with of his rig. So worse case I may snag his t case

really hope your transfer case isn't shot! Maybe the Rover gods will spare you some pity.

edit: didn't read the other pages. Glad she is okay!

She is alive, I have a paranoid feeling it may be a bandaid. Idk. Everything noise I heard while driving today I was freaking out. Hard to hear stuff with wildly cut fenders ( thanks PO) and aggressive thread 33s. Plus with tools shifting and such. Idk. Drove nice, no sketchy hesitations or anything. Like I said, just paranoid, I don't know normally end up this lucky.
