Twitchy A/C and Recirc button activation
I have had this problem for a while and did a search, nothing came up.
When I turn on the recirc button it does not activate. If I tap on it long enough while activated eventually it works. Anyone ever taken one of these apart and cleaned the contacts? Possible?

I had the same issue last week. So I pulled out the switch. Took it completely apart, cleaned it ruffed up the contacts a little put it all back together and it works great now.
So your answer would be yes.
As far as a step by step... go slow, use common sense and you'll figure it out. If I can do it, anyone can. BTW, this goes for all the other switches also. The same day I took apart and cleaned 2 or the window switches, and the drivers side seat controls. Warning, there are a bunch of little rockers/ball bearing and springs in these... pain, but doable.

I have done this on my 944 but was not sure if these were solid state.
I love simple copper/brass internals to switches. Thanks for the response.
Plan on tackling this today.

Done and working!
So.. the part that fails is the little copper strip which has bent tabs to contact the lower main copper tabs which connect to the actual wires. I cleaned up the surfaces, removed the upper copper strip and added a little more bend to them and reassembled. Works like a charm!

Good job... feels a lot better than buying a new switch eh?
