Default U-Haul Car Hauler

Hello Good People,
Looks like the time has come for me to relocate a few hundred miles away. The D1 will be on a U-Haul car hauler. After watching several of these videos I am wondering if I may need any additional support at the rear of the truck besides the security chain?

Your feedback is much appreciated.

i just hauled a d1 130 miles with a uhaul trailer on a very rough highway having work done to it. It was a wild ride but the d1 stayed put using the supplied tire tie downs and chains.

always check your initial tie downs after a few miles to make sure they have not slacked

Thanks for the feedback.
So far you guys are thinking no need for additional tie downs in the rear?

The Uhaul car hauler trailer should have chains on the rear of it. You secure them to your rear axle as a CYA in case the front ratchet straps fail. I've pulled many a LR using a Uhaul car hauler or car dolly. I personally prefer the car dolly as removing a rear drive shaft only takes a few minutes. A D1/D2 just fits onto the dolly width wise with no issues.

I hauled mine 200 miles on one and it worked like a champ. Followed the Uhaul online video and no problems. Now with that said, let me say this. I was pulling the trailer with a Uhaul truck and the trucks exhaust sputtered oil during the trip and it covered the side of my Disco. Took me a day to clean it off and wax it for good measure. Just an FYI.
