Default Is Ultra-Gauge compatible for 1997? Emissions Sticker states OBD certified, not OBDII

I want to order an UltraGauge, but the model shown, UltraGauge EM, version 1.2, states that for compatibility, please confirm that (1) the emissions sticker is marked "OBDII" compliant or certified, and (2) the vehicle is 1996 and newer, and not on the compatibility exception list provided.

My Discovery is a 1997, not listed on the exception list, but its emissions sticker under its hood states "OBD" certified, not "OBDII".

Does anyone else with a 1997 have the UltraGauge version 1.2, and is it compatible? That's the only version UltraGauge that seems available on the website.

Also, any suggestions on the mount option to purchase?

Listed options are:
None
Velcro
Vertical surface mount
Horizontal surface mount
Windshield mount

It's ok to laugh at my questions, but I'm trying to start at Step 1 and get it right...

Does the ultra gauge allow ABS sensor clearing/readings?

It will work with any 1996+ Discovery.

Thanks for replies. I took a photo of sticker under hood, and it reads: ""EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM OBD CERTIFIED", and then gives a series of codes: SFI/2TWC/2HO2S(2). Then, it states "This vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA regulations applicable to 1997 Model Year", so it's definitely a 1997. The door sticker is stamped 04/97.

But, no sticker states "OBDII".

EricT...Thx. I just wanted to be sure.

NabisOne...I'll search for old posts re: mount pros/cons. Thx. I'll post if it works on my vehicle.

Arch_student...the website states that it clears codes, but I don't know which ones; others on Forum with more experience can chime in. Or check website: UltraGauge OBDII Scan tool & Information Center

It will work as will scanners as well. Things like coolant temp are live data from the ECU. The UG can be set to display the voltage at the OBDII connector, which is a little less (because of protection devices) than the reading you get on the battery. But darn close. Things like oil pressure still don't show up, they are not sent to the ECU.

Go ahead and put in a 180F thermostat.

No, it can't interface with the ABS system. OBDII is a standard, whereas the ABS, SRS, AC, etc systems are LR specific.

Ok, thx all. Ultra-gauge, 180F thermostat, and new thermostat gasket to be purchased and installed/mounted. It's a good start .
