Default Under hood temps

Have you guys ever been told that the Rover engine runs to hot, puts off alot of heat and that it gets so hot under your hood that you have considered installed hood vents and if you remove the fire suppression blanket your paint will bubble?

I went and bought a $10 thermometer with a wired remote temp probe from my local stores auto accessories section.

I put the temp probe under the hood next to the MAF, I experimented with locations, little to no change.

A nice hot day.

Idling in my driveway for 10min after driving home from work.

I've had this thermometer for over a month, the hottest it has ever gotten under the hood was 152*F.
Having the a/c on, driving fast, sitting in a drive thru, engine running for over a hour...none of it makes any damn difference, it has never gotten hotter than 152 under my hood.

In other words, do your own research, do not take people at their word, question them, make them prove it to you or explain why it is the way they say it is.

Interesting,so when you add ceramic coated intakes you could turn your engine bay into
a freezer! Good to see you back Spike.

No I am not back.
This brings me back to 26,000 posts, someone, I wont name his name, deleted 2 of my posts awhile back because I did not agree with him.

No the under hood temps do not coordinate with the intake air temps.
They are totally independent of one another.
Driving the under hood temps run in the 110-120 range, makes not difference if driving at 25mph or 75mph, 60*F or 100*F, no difference.
A/C on or off, no difference.

My PM box is now 100% full, I am not back.

I am not a sheep who follows blindly, I will not be threatened with being banned, I cant stand people who do not tolerate being questioned or asked to prove their "knowledge".

If you guys have noticed all of the older more knowledgeable people have left this forum because of this one totalitarian person who used to stand around and smoke cigarettes while eating donuts and upselling goods and services to soccer moms who thinks he knows more than everyone one when in fact if you actually read what he posts he gives no actual repair info.
He repeats the same thing over and over and over, and if someone asks him in greater detail he wont reply, he will ignore it for a few days until someone else replies.

I am not back.

Those are the same intake temps my UltraGauge gives me on these hot summer days. Never measured the actual under hood temps.

all of the older more knowledgeable people have left this forum
So where did everybody go?
