When looking at parts on RockAuto, a company called URO Parts always has parts way cheaper than most other brands. Now I know that in most cases you get what you pay for but being of curious mind I was wondering if anyone has used any of there parts and if so is the price a direct reflection of the quality.

 

There is and this is supported on other brand vehicle forums as well.

Some stuff is fine. Some stuff is pure crap. I bought a set of D1 coolant hoses and the quality was pretty scary. I bought a brake sensor for my LR3 and it seemed just find.

 

I have their hoses on my DII, so far so good.

One thing to keep in mind... Beck Arnley parts are frequently re-boxed OEM parts. I bought a set of Beck Arnley ball joints that turned out to the Lemforder parts, same with a drag link and a tie rod. The same applies to my SHO; the Beck Arnley parts I order are almost always made in Japan.

 

I've used many of their parts on my BMWs and rover, no issues with them other then a coolant resivour that leaked after a year.

 

I have their hoses on my DI for 5 months, so far so good.

 

Maybe they have had increases in quality over the last few years. I think spike555 or someone used the D1 hoses too, with the same quality issue I was concerned about. I think.

 

I've had uro hoses on mine for 30k miles without even a hint of an issue.

 

That would be nice, as Im gonna need a new set of rad hoses for the D2 soon.

I posted links in earlier forums here about poor URO quality. I first learned about their sketchy standards when I had a Volvo I was fixing up. I bought URO brand full pcv system replacment and lower radiator hose for it. While reading the DIY for the pcv, I saw that the OP had an update saying his URO pcv hoses fell apart in less than a year.

I bit the bullet and went to the Volvo dealer for replacements. The quality difference was ridiculous. The rad hoses in particular were most glaring. OEM was nice rubber while the URO was like neoprene.
