Default Used OME springs

Hi guys,

I can get a set of used +1.5" Old Man Emu springs for less than $200.

Seller claims they are 4 years old and have about 10,000 miles on them.

Is this a good deal? What is the life of OME springs?

OME springs usually last pretty long, I'd say it's a decent deal but would still try to talk him down since they are old and probably rusty

Thanks for the help.

All but one are in decent shape aesthetically. The rear passenger was pretty rusty though. Here's a pic:

Rust doesn't inhibit their effectiveness. Sand em and paint em and slap em in. I'd say paint em chrome. Haha. But that surface rust doesn't matter. Get lifted.

Cool, Ill probably pick these up today.

Next question...

Will any shocks that fit a rover (TF, super gaz, bilstein, rancho, etc) pair up with the springs alright, or do I have to get a longer shock (TF +2)?

Shocks are like anything else, you get what you pay for. I like the TF +2 shocks personally but there are a lot of other options if budget doesnt allow. People talked all kinds of trash about my el cheapo Pro Comps that we stuck on our beater of a Rover, they are still under it though and work just fine.

What are these used coils supposed to be off of, if you don't know you may be buying some paper weights.
I believe that per the picture you posted, that those are 2 different year and make coils, I would be careful with that deal.
As for shocks, buy the best, don't buy based on the cost or that is what you will get.

Hi Mike

I went to his place and checked em out. I think theyre legit. He said he bought the OME kit from Atlantic British, and that rear passenger just rusted for some reason. He didnt like the ride, so he kept the OME shocks on and put on some terrafirma mediums.
Both drivers side shocks are a smidge longer than the passenger.

Was gonna pick em up tomorrow for $170.

R.e. shocks: I was more asking about length. Will the "standard" length shocks by the manufacturers sold on, say, Atlantic British work with +1.5" springs?

This would concern me as they should not be.

Have you gone to the site and looked at them? I would look at bothAB and OME's sites. I found this in a search, it is the most comprehensive data i have seen on OME Springs.

You are basically paying about 50% of retail, which I consider high for used. I would compare the numbers on the springs if possible to see what you are actually buying and then decide. Look at this site:
