Default Very Odd brake Failure, Ideas?

Now that the project disco runs I am starting to work on the brakes, and its been a bit interesting to say the least. So I wanted to replace all the pads and bleed the entire system, I was starting off with a brake system that didnt work and I didnt know why it didnt work, but I knew the fluid was low and figured that bleeding would solve my soft pedal/no brake pressure condition. I took off the rear right tire and began to bleed the system, bled like normal, got a bunch of fluid out (after adding new fluid in the reservoir) and got clear fluid coming out, closed the valve and moved to back left. Heres where it gets interesting, brake the bleeder and no fluid comes out, so I took it right out and checked for rust, no blockage in the bleeder. Then I decided to take the line off the caliper, I did and no fluid came out at all, like nothing. Reconnected everything and decided to inspect the lines, I can see lots of rust and looks like there might be leaks in the system, however there is no fluid leaking out at all, even half way up the truck, from those spots that look like they might be leaking. Then I went back to look at the right rear, and now no fluid coming out of it either and still spongy pedal (unlike the first time where it actually got stiff like normal, and this is after reconnecting everything and tightening each connection) this didnt change even after pumping the brakes many many times like the internet recommended. So my plan is to replace all of the lines because they need it, but shouldnt the lines have been leaking fluid if that was the only problem? I have a bad feeling it might be the master cylinder then? Any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

Yeah they get really strange sometimes. Do you have the ABS module? that really makes things get crazy.i got good results using a vacuum (hand) pump and drawing fluid when there wasn't any in the lines.

Yes it has ABS, and I might have to get one of those pumps, I was just using a hose and a bottle in the one person setup.
