Wanted: Heavy-Duty Rear Bumper
I have a 1996 Discovery that is in need of a heavy-duty rear bumper. Not interested in the stock bumper. Must be one rusting somewhere on the planet. I am located south of Denver.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I thought the stock bumper was a thin joke until I was recently rear ended at 45MPH by a very large F250. The bumper barely bent and it kept it's shape very well. Of coarse the end caps exploded into bits and pieces. I was going to get a Tactical Rover's rear bumper as a replacement, but I never heard back from Lucky8 on a price so I found a perfect stock replacement at a junk yard for 65.00. Then with my left over $$$ I bought a very well maintained 99 D2.

I did contact Tactical Rover's directly when I was first interested in getting their replacement bumper after being rear-ended. All I heard was a lovely group of crickets....... Then I contacted Erik at Lucky8 and he said he'd get a good price on me, but I never heard back. I got tired of my D1 looking like the typical run down POS so I took actions into my own hands and even before the crappy Insurance Company settled with me I went and found a perfect OEM replacement bumper complete with everything and perfect end caps for 65.00. I did have to wade thru almost 2ft of water in Houston, TX to get to where the D1 was sitting in the salvage yard, but it was the best 65.00 I've spent.
Then with the left over Insurance $$$$ after fixing my D1 properly myself I bought another D2 for 1500.00 that just needed an alternator!!!
I'd have loved the darn TR bumper, but oh well not gonna beg for one!
