Default water pump tips/tricks

Got he water pump and fan clutch, i remember seeing some people having issues with doing the pump, and i'd like to not have a fight too much, or go without the truck for a while if possible.

So few questions then request for general feedback / advice.. hopefully again this thread may help someone else.

#1. Do I, or should I replace bolts for the water pump?

#2. Any issues with removing the bolts? I remember reading something about them getting stuck, but couldn't find the thread again.

#3. Touch of rtv on either side of the gasket to help ensure seal? Or just use gasket by itself.

#4. with the chevy fan clutch, do I need different bolts for the fan as well? or just enlarge the holes in the fan to fit a different alignment.

that's what I got for now. Im big on being prepared so i'd rather have what i need up front, thanks

The alignment is identical, the holes just need to be larger. You will, however, need to replace the bolts. (LR clutch is metric, Chevy will be SAE.) I think they're 3/8-16 by 1/2"; easily obtainable from your local hardware store. Wouldn't hurt to add lockwashers as well.

Thanks! I'll stop by ACE on the way home and grab them
