Found the shock on the drivers side, upper bushing was gone. when you push on the fender sideways, the whole shock top moves around. surprised I missed it

 

Quick update: I brought the car to British Car Service, one of the largest Land Rover repair shops in Southern Cal. Steve, the owner was able to troubleshoot my problem.

It was the differential. He said it was falling apart and I was even lucky to drive it to his place. When he opened the drain plug lots of pieces of metal came out.

The damage to fix was $953.00 - $450 for a used differential and the rest was labor and gear oil.
