Default Weird electrical issue

So my Rover has given some electrical issues..nothing huge that would affect me driving it. Here is the deal...everytime I disconnect the battery to work on something, say the headliner...and I have to unplug and electrical part say the dome light or the sunroof controls...and when I go plug them back in....hook the battery up...they no longer work anymore...very seldomly they come on when I open the door...but they wont if I manually try to go on an off...what gives?

The bulb is good and all that

possibly a poor ground connection inside the cab..?? I know that there is a ground point behind the drivers side kick panel..... (mine was very rusty)......there may be more...?
