Land Rovers since 1948 have been aluminum bodied. After WW2 steel was expensive so they used Al.

Floors and body cage are steel and I believe the door frames, just the skin of the body is aluminum

Rear quarters, all 5 door skins, front fenders and hood are alu iirc, this is why they look great forever and rotten out where you don't see, pull up the carpets floor probly rotting in front by the kick panels, and outside bottom of b pillars, probly not so bad without sunroofs since these are drain locations, also the cargo area, and just below the door striker on the body for the 2 back doors

You will find color is rare and that it will be a mix of 8-12 different colors. My Ebsom Green had 12, my White P38 had 8, Beluga Black is hard to patch with gold and silver in paint mix. My 2011 LR4 says Sumatra Black, but is Blue. Rover makes the brain spin when mixing the paint and not cheap either. Because of the aluminum panels, reskinning is easier as the panels are stuck with a 2-pack adhesive, just the paint is the hardest.

Unfortunately Disco roof is definitely not aluminum. Defender roof is however.

Not necessarily. I'd assume the shiny surface would actually bounce heat away from the truck. Kind of like the gold mylar all over the lunar module? For similar reasons I'm planning on painting my roof white. (Also the clear coat is gone )

Also, I was doing some custom wiring to replace my terrible spit and shoestring job I did last time, and finally confirmed the color code. It IS woodcote green.

Anyone got a door? Bueller?
