thanks, as I said, its not as hard as it sounds, and if you dont clean every little bit of gunk I could see this not takeing TOO long.

Lets hope she runs today

Ok 12 hours of work today. Isn't very fun anymore. I really hope everything works.

All i have left to do,

is tighten exhaust manifold bolts
connect right down y pipe.
Get that stupid little spring on the throttle
Find where the heck this plug goes. It comes off the front right of the wiring harness. Right before the driver side fuel injectors and coolant temperature sensor. I have NO idea where it came from its very long.

ah, its a knock sensor.

That's the way it goes: You find really good instructions with accurate pictures AFTER the repair.

Yea.

Anyways todays an off day. I just connected the knock sensor and ran it. Still have to:

Put the spring on the throttle
Connect the rest of the exhaust
Check for fuel leak.

When I tried starting it, it revved up to 2300 RPMS then died. Over and over. Untill I gave it gas. After holding the gas for a while its idling at 2500RPMS. Which im not that worried about. This truck already had idle issues, and needs to have the ECU reset agian.

Pardon my ignorance spence, but what would cause something like that ? I'm a bit new to the whole electronic scene..my newest previous vehicle was a 78 sooo much easier to work on..but def not as cool

Can be different things. I had the same problem but mine was a bad IACV or TPS (not sure which because I just replaced both at the same time) but that fixed it for me. Spence has another thread about this which will go into detail.

Gremlins. Seriously.

I DONT trust the rave either, as it has prooven its self wrong too many times on electrical problems.

Heres what I DO KNOW..

High Idle.
Reset Memory
High idle came back
Noticed TPS was bad
Replaced Everything to do with idle
Truck has YET to learn the correct idle so it NEEDS to be reset.

I blame this all on the bad TPS. And the check engine light on my truck ISN'T worth a damn.
