I have a 97 v8i that says 4.0 on the intake... per the RAVE the v8i is 3.9
In one of the threads on here someone said the displacement, bore, and stroke are all the same its just a marketing gimmick ...
I just find it entertaining that my 6cl chevy blazer had a 4.3 in it... we get 2 extra cyl's but less displacement

. The Ultra-Gauge reward form's drop-down menu prompted me to select "3.9" for a 1997, but it's a 4.0, so...I selected "Other" and typed in 4.0. Maybe website/document authors mix-up engine size in vehicles close to the Discovery series (generation) cross-over? I own a 3rd generation Firebird and often notice mistakes when authors compare the 4 generations of F'birds, especially in cross-over years. Sometimes only owners recognize the subtle distinctions, although engine size is kind of important...
