what battery do you prefer?
I was just debating this. My Interstate is getting older. Autozone just came out with a AGM Platinum battery. At 171 bucks it had better be good. I can't seem to get on board with Optima. I've had two. Two failed early. I don't see the advantages other than no spill.
Thanks for the thoughts.
Any special consideration if my truck tends to sit in a garage for 1-2 weeks at a time? During the spring it will be out a couple times a week, but through the winter it is basically just a weekend machine.

Yeah, install a cheap battery disconnect on the negative terminal.

Optimas do not like to be discharged even a little bit, so they are not good in cars that are not driven regularly. That was what their service folks told me and they said Yellow tops work better in that case but don't have a warranty.
BTW, do D1s take a group R battery? I have a larger one in mine right now that barely fits with no room for a disconnect on the neg terminal.
