mine was being a bitch to screw in too, but i found that if you hold the cord behind it perfectly straight if the threads aren't ****ed up it will screw in a lot easier.

I just went with the NTK one because its what was in there and for me they were 61 unfortunately the pre 96 o2s are like 91 but i still think thats the best deal your gonna find.

oh and if you arn't replacing them all bank one is the drivers side and bank two is the passenger side.

OBDII became standard in '96 and it has nothing to do with the advance EVAP or non AEVAP.

But yes, mid-'97 Rover went to AEVAP.

I need some O2 sensors as well. I have a 96 and its not AEVAP. Can I use the NTK? I know mine is OBDII which means I have pre and post cat. Seems like the NTK 25044 would work.

The 25044 is for the AEVAP. I believe the correct number for the '96 non-AEVAP is 25017 or 16.

25017 is the correct one for non-AEL

I thought so but didn't have time to look it up to be 100% sure. Thanks for confirming Antichrist.

Zombie thread, I know.
How are everyone's NTK 25044's holding up? I need two front O2's for my '98 and am considering them.

Haven't changed out the O2 sensor on my 94 just yet. But I bought one from AB (Part # AMR6244) for $99 and change. No splicing or soldering needed. Fits just right. Hopefully I'll get a chance to change it out, the tool I bought doesn't grab the O2 sensor good so unfortunately for me I have to drop the exhaust. Added bonus, original O2 sensors still on the and have 221k on the clock. Won't be an easy job!! I'll report back when it's fixed.

I have had them in for a couple months. Working fine so far.

Good to hear.

Disco28, a couple things. I would double check the O2 you bought is for a '94 Disco. I think the AMR6244 is for a later D1 with Advanced EVAP.
Also, if you're replacing the O2 you can cut the wire and slip a 6pt deep socket over it to unthread it.
