Default Where to source parts?

Hey guys. I am in the Southeast of the United States. ( Knoxville , Tennessee )

I have used a guy out of Virginia for a couple different parts and the transactions went smooth, but all of a sudden he is reading my messages and not responding.

Possibly got frustrated with me because my plans to come up there and get the parts changed twice. ( Work schedule, was out of my control. )

But now he will not even respond to me. Anyone know of anyone around Kentucky, TN, Georgia, etc with Land Rover parts?

well lots of places to buy new parts - you can google that - same with breaker yards in your area - call the yards to see if they have a D1

Add AutohausAZ and UKAR Auto to the new list, along with several UK based companies Rimmer Brothers, John Craddock, Paddock Spares, Britpart, and more. Lots of options available, that's one of the benefits of owning a Land Rover. Pretty easy to get parts, if you have the cash. The big chain stores also come through with good parts from time to time.

Man I miss the days when you could go to LQK and find a D1 or two lying around. It was for the picking. The last time I went back in 2010- 2015, there were still some around and you could grab anything for cheap.

would any of you know a part number for this gasket? Had to take the driveshaft out to service the parking brake cable, and when I pulled it out this gasket for sure needs replaced. Seem to be a lack of schematics online or in the manual for it. Didn’t realize until after it was out I didn’t need to take it out but glad I did as this gasket is a goner.

here’s the side that faces the transmission:

im thinking it’s this maybe?

Maybe FRC7043? Roverparts.com has parts catalogs for Disco 1. Scroll down to the bottom of their webpage and look under Resources Center, Land Rover Discovery I 1994 - '99 Parts Catalog. It shows on page 11 (Transfer Case). Those catalog pages have really helped me, even though some part numbers have been superseded by now. There are also catalogs for Series and Range Rover Classic. Rovers North also shows parts diagrams on their site. A picture is worth many words....

The Product Information for the part you show seems to say it is for the Input, even though the title says Output. Seems to be a minor mystery???

It’s the output shaft. It looks like parts geek has the right one. But on some they use the same part number for a transfer case o ring. I hate part numbers 😂
