Window is fixed
My parts arrived this morning, so I removed the vapor barrier, lowered the window and removed the rusted out window lift channel.

I then removed and cleaned the old rubber that goes inside the window channel and let it air dry.
I installed the rubber into the channel but then the glass would not go into the channel, the fit was to tight.
So I took the rubber back out, laid it between the glass and the channel and tried to force the glass down into the channel, no go.

By now I'm getting pissed.
My wife came out to see how it was going and offered two suggestions.
1-make the window channel wider, so I did this by using a fat screwdriver and hammering it down the length of the channel to widen it by ever so little.
2-lube the rubber, so I took my oil can and coated the bottom of the rubber with gear oil.
I then started at one end and installed the glass with her pushing down on the glass and me pushing up and using a small ball peen hammer to force the channel onto the glass.

I also made sure to line up the new channel where the old one had been.

I then used the hammer and worked my way down the length of the channel while my wife pressed down on the glass forcing it into the channel.
I pity the fool who does this for 8 hours a day.
When all said and done it looks like this.

I did not glue the glass, it did not need it.
I ordered my window channels from Land Rover Parts & Rover Accessories From Atlantic British | Discovery, Range Rover, LR3, LR2, Defender, Freelander and Land Rover Series Parts & Accessories, it was $55 shipped for two window lift channels.
