The absolute best product i have found for this type application is Bondo 800 Black Restore. I'm not sure if the local auto parts places carry it. Amazon has it for under $15.00.
I liked it so much, i even wrote an Amazon review. The door trim, roof rack and bumpers on the D1 i just purchased looked grey, almost white in some areas. It completely changed the look of the Rover when i was done. It is a thick, jet black gel dye. The plastic trim under the windshield around the wipers on my nissan titan was basically grey/white from 8 years of sun. It now looks like it came off the assembly line, brand new.
Like my Amazon review says, we have received (including today) over 10" of rain the past couple weeks. The dye isn't phased. My '87 911 Carrera (like a lot of 80's cars) has tons of black plastic and trim. Now looks new. AWESOME stuff.
