Default Wiper problem

I'm having a problem with my front wipers. No more interminent, the wipers go about 3/4 of the way and stop. On high and low, the wipers won't return all the way, they stop where they are when they are turned off. Motor or wiper switch?

Neither. There's a set of rotary contacts within the gearbox of the wiper assembly. One is not making contact. It might be burned, pitted or just lifted. You have to drill the gearbox cover plate rivets to remove the cover. Use small sheet metal screws to reinstall.

You'll see what I'm talking about if your handy enough. It's a common issue and many never feel brave enough to tackle a really simple problem. It's better than throwing money at it.

I repaired mine almost six years ago and it's worked ever since. YMMV.
