Wires plugged into brake pad

Default Wires plugged into brake pad
One of my rear pads has what I guess is a pad wear warning device consisting of two wires coming from the pad going to a plug which has no where to go. What is this really?

Exactly what you said, its a wear indicator but not all models have this option.
Just cut them off close to the pad with side cutters.

Range Rover Classics. For the hand brake and one is used on either side of the rears. That's where it started.
