MAKE MORE THAN ONE ADAPTER PLATE, I bet if you could produce one for the R380 and the ZF22 you could start a small business...just saying...I'd convert my to a MB Diesel if there would be an adapter plate readily available

There is a guy in Australia that makes them for a GM 350. He gets over a thousand bucks for them alone.

Sounds great.

Are you going to make it to where you can running used McFry oil for fuel? Like Willie Nelson's fleet of vehicles does.

running straight WVO is a pain in the ***... you have to keep it from freezing, etc.

1000-1500 is the current going rate for the adapter based on the research I did and getting quotes from those that are currently making them.

I have access to someone that can make it for me. The raw Aluminum plate is 200 bucks by itself. With the knowhow and work involved that price is not actually that bad...

Course, there is a LOT more to the build than just the adapter plate.

Short list would be

Flywheel adapted, (In my case we are going to use the stick rover flywheel and insert part of the mercedes flywheel in it to correct the bolt pattern, or something like that)

Engine mounts, A/C mounts, Oil pan alteration, 2" body lift + a 3" regular lift and Possibly a 1 inch spacer on that... Just to deal with the clearance issues of that pan (Jerak has a total of a 6 in lift running 37" tires and says the clearance of the pan is fine) Of course that would = better axles etc...

I don't see this being something that is going to be a cheap swap, even done half ***, which who would want it half *** anyway?

Dropped off the Clutch, pressure plate and flywheel yesterday to get redone. The place is going to beef up the clutch all they can in prep for using it with the om617. (Still it's only a 10 inch clutch, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up) Total price for the this step, 140 bucks. When I get the items back the flywheel will head over to the machine shop and get modified to the om617's bolt pattern.

How are you taking care of the fuel lines and the fuel tank?

The fuel tank will be the stock one. For now, I'm going to even leave the stock fuel pump in there and see if I can use it as a secondary.

great way to cheat when youve got air leaks in your fuel system - pressurize the lines hah
