Like any car I sell I priced it fair, took the time to do the research and get quotes for the things it needed, like a new soft top, seats recovered, and poss due for a timing chain just based on the mileage, so the guy the now owns it can do that work, and still come out even when and if he wants to sell it.

SL is just as complex. The engine management system can be really fun to trace issues, (like high idle). Plus, you really should have a new timing chain put in every 130k or so. The bad part is unlike the diesel MB's the parts for the SL are VERY expensive.

SO....
Got the trans out today and it's now sitting in the garage alongside the old engine. Still waiting on the 3/4 aluminum plate to show up to make the adapter.
While I'm waiting on all this I brought home my "new" 2000 dII, really like it. Ordered the head gasket kit and bolts for it yesterday and looks like a week wait before they get there, so no driving the truck till then![Frown](https://landroverforums.com/forum/images/smilies/udbMv2o.png)
by then I should have the plate also, so we will begin making the adapter. The R380 needs a rebuild, so I'm hunting for all the parts to do this (ashcroft?) Running the flywheel, pressure plate and clutch over to a local rebuilder in the morning, who quoted about 150 to redo what I have.
Slow but steady...
