worked on the 96 today.
Got the old gal up on some ramps today and dropped the fuel tank. Replaced all the old fill and vent lines. Actually was a pretty simple job, should have done it sooner. Was made even simpler by the fact I left off the rear sway bar when I put those D90 springs in...
Nice to be able to fill up without gas pouring out on the ground...
Total cost of the repair.... 3 bucks worth of new line from advanced and a free piece of new 2 inch fuel rated line from my local diesel repair guy.

With the rear anti sway out here are the steps..
1. open the access panel in the cargo area to access the top of the tank.
2. unplug the electric connection and remove the fuel lines.
3. If you have them, remove the 2 tow points on each side of the tank. (I did this so the bolt that holds them would not damage the tank in anyway.)
4. disconnection the vent line and the fill line and that other little line thats there...
5. hold the tank with a jack and board on the drivers side, so you can drop the metal tank panel.
6. Remove the 4 bolts hold that metal panel and remove it.
7. The tank is now free. Lower the jack and the tank will come with it. I had the truck up on ramps and it was high enough for the tank to go completely vertical, which made it even easier.
8. replace the bad lines which are simple help on like radiator hose using the standard hose clamps and reverse the instructions to reassemble.
All in all with everything sitting there to do the job it would take about an hour.
