It works!!! Increased gas mileage!!
I think everyone has missed the point, the filteration material isn't whats important. the restriction of the air box is the problem. anyone can argue that the filter doesn't filter enough or that the difference in filteration is insignificant, or that the size of the particals that aren't filtered are insignificant. I think we can all agree that putting a "performance" filter in the restrictive stock airbox is pointless, and fitting a paper filter on the end of the round tube going into the engine, would require too much duct tape. the benefit of the "safety" of the enclosed stock airbox as opposed to an open filter vs. the benifit of the better flowing open filter, is really up to opinion.
I changed out my squish hose and hard piped it all with parts they had in the store down by the jack, and then took the hose they sell to plug in the front and ran it through a hole behind the headlight for cold air suction. Ideally, you should make a box around the whole thing that sucks from the front or side, but it works as is...

The only one I saw was of the filter on the hose with the box taken off. That did answer my question of if I take it off or not but how do I do it?
I was reading on the forums and the big thread was the "Increased Gas Milage and it works!!!!!!" Blah blah long story short... well I got the Spectre Air Filter. Do I take off the box to install it?

Chill out buddy... learn to take a joke. I figured those with the intellect to see the humor in that last post of mine might find it funny.
P.S. end the $h!t talking before someone gets pissed. We're all adults I think.

I will try to get my camera working again to post some..
I will also add that if you don't have a constructive post, keep it to yourself. I consider myself an intellectual and didn't find anything funny about the rip on the filter. I like my vehicles clean and quiet, so I myself was a little hesitant to try this approach, but there is no reason to rag on the people that do it.
I am sure it is done, but this forum will not turn into d-web. People will be banned if needed.

So you just cut the trumpet off of your air box? Interesting. I have a spare one I'm going to try this out.
Just wondering what do I do after I take off the trumpet? I have the MAF sensor in the way. The Spectre filter does not fit on the silver part with mesh grill (MAF) and I don't know if I take it off or what?
