Default Is this worth it?

Looking to buy a Disco 1 and am wondering if this one seems worth it?

I'd say so. Between the tires, bumper and rack there is $3000. The description of "needs new manifold" begs for some investigation. My sense is that there is something more wrong with the truck. Could be head gaskets or cats needed. Just be skeptical.
Be sure to get it out and run it on the highway for at least a few miles. Take it to an Indy Rover garage for a look over - well worth the $100. Especially if you are not too handy yourself.

The steering wheel is off center, need to know why.
And what manifold needs to be replaced?

Exactly. I would assume an exhaust manifold. I have seen these cracked from plugged cats...

I've been talking with the owner and he says that all the add-ons and lift we done at Rover Time in Raleigh, NC. Anyone know of this shop. I might give them a call and see if they know a little more about the truck.

As for the manifold, I am waiting for a response from him as to what needs to be replaced.

Well..honestly..if the mani is the only problem...that truck would go for a looooooooooot more...if its a rovertym suspension set up..that alone is about $1000, ARB bumper 1300, warn winch 700, rack 500+

All i am saying..is be caaaaaaareful

So he's saying that it's the exhaust manifold but is willing to have it replaced. What else do I need to look out for? Should I pay to have him take it to Rovertym to have them check it out for me?

It would be like paying retail for the tires, winch, bumpeer and lift and getting the Disco for free.

Since that deal is almost too good to be true..i would take it somewhere and have it inspected..do like a leak down test etc.

Ask for any service records...if the heads been gone through? If so, most of the time you should see some RTV from the rebuilt if they used RTV. Make sure the tranny does not shift hard, transfer case goes in gear (if not, its a bargaining tool because most of the time its just the solenoid is out). Check for driveshaft slop...things like that

You seem to have a major hangup with the solenoid, why not fix it correctly instead of telling people to just yank it out? I believe in the correct method over the just yank it out variety.
