Default Yes another taillight problem

First actual thread here since I bought my 94 d1, love the vehicle! But I'm having what seems to be a common problem. I've ruled out the light sockets themselves as they are not burnt, now when I turn the parking lights on the driver side does not illuminate but passenger does. When I step on the brake the passenger side light goes out but the brake lamp on driver side lights up. Third brake light works as well as fogs and turn signal. When I test with the multi meter I get (if I remember correctly) 4.33v on the working circuit and zero on the other and reverse when the brakes are depressed. This leads me to believe the ground is good as the bulb shares a common ground for the filaments. Should I just ground the circuit to if the light illuminates or is there a method you guys use. Just asking here as I'm bored in school right now lol.

Welcome to hell. I hate those damn lights.

Do you have the jump seats? Makes it worst.

No jump seats I will try grounding the lights in the morning before work. I never could find a definite answer in my search what the problem could be. Ill do the usual checks, but was just wondering if anyone had an answer as to what the problem is.

Could be trailer connector which is inside passenger side rear hatch "post", laying on the bottom. Open plastic panel to get at it. Does sound like a ground problem is more likely.

Didn't have much time this morning but I did look at the connector and didn't see anything out of the ordinary tho I did notice one of the circuits for the taillight that's not working has continuity with the switch on. I think it had power with the switch off to but I may have forgotten to turn the switch off. Soooooo if there is power there like there is suppose to be, I should be looking at the assembly where the bulb sits in.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the holder has to powers and a common ground. So if one filament works and the other doesn't and you know the bulb is good then I should look at why the circuit for the non working filament isn't being completed right?
Ill figure this out once I have time to sit down and touch wires together but it's either freezing cold in the dark or early in the morning till I have another day off.
