I am leaning towards CV as well. Have someone make tight turns in a parking lot while you listen from the outside.

My Bridgestone Duelers are terrible about picking up gravel from my driveway. You'll be driving along with ticking noises driving you crazy and it turns out to be a few little pieces of gravel in the tread grooves.

I have those tires too, looked around under the truck after every drive because of it for awhile.

So, lets get away from the rocks and back to what is most likely starting to fail. When was the last time you did a complete front diff. service, bearings Swivel fluid, seal and a setting of the preload? You may be out of swivel oil, causing the cv joint to talk to you. There is a slight chance, depending on it mileage and how low the fluid is, that you may prolong it's death by filling both swivels.

Ditto what Mike said. I filled both my swivels while I'm waiting on the CV joints to arrive. Lock it in 4 wheel and turn it and if it clatters like a B**** it's your CV joint.
