Yes but we don't all live in the USVI. Some of us have crazy temp swings from 12 degrees in the a.m. to 52 in the p.m. I've heard of bypassing this in the past, especially on performance cars where supposedly it was actually heating the intake air, thus defeating a so called "cold air intake", but I tend to believe that it's total bunk that it actually provides any kind of benefit to take it off, and if Land Rover put it on there to start with, it probably serves some sort of function.

So I just read all 4 pages of this thread, and I have a question for Granite Disco.... After all your leaks and the new hose piece kit, did it solve up your trickly water noise? I got that same noise, same symptoms....

In my case just topping off the coolant stopped the water noise immediately - but I had to top keep topping it off because I was losing coolant through the piece under the throttle. Replacing that (which was very easy) stopped the obvious leaks, but I still ended up topping off (although not nearly as frequently) every month or two for the following year (which brings us to today). Never found any obvious signs of leaks (nor did I smell any), and the engine tested ok when checked by mechanic, so I just added checking coolant to my checking the oil routine.

thats good! ive tried with no success to drain water out from the black nipples underneath the floor of the truch and all that came out was dirt, so after reading this thread im gonna do a cooling system flush and refill and hopefully that will solve one of my issues, thanks for all the research and good luck with all yours...

Good luck, hope that works for you! I've been amazed with the help I've received on this forum, so I hope this is one small way I can help repay the favor.

Rovers North has it (https://roversnorth.com/store/p-1105...covery-ii.aspx), but by the time you add in shipping it was cheaper for me to just go to my local dealer.
