Default $100 eBay radiator still going strong 3 years later

I thought it was time to do an update on this. 3 years ago,....my original radiator on my 2003 D2 developed a slight leak,......don't recall for certain,....but I think it might have been at the nipple where the line from the overflow/coolant recovery tank connected.

I inquired here and no one had tried the $100 Radiator (shipping included) with a 10 year warranty,....so, in the interest of Forum Research,....I thought I would give it a try. The radiator arrived quickly. Thinking it was made in the US,......and I set it on my workbench next to my old one,.....and scrutinized both,.....I could see no difference whatsoever,.......it was a virtual carbon copy of the original in terms of dimension and appearance. It fit perfectly with no issues at all. A quick and easy install.

So, here we are now 3 years and 3 screamin hot Texas summers later,.....and I am happy to say that I have had no issues at all. For those naysayers that said,...."Run Away",........I am now here to say that this $100 radiator is a viable option. Hell, you could buy what,.....4,5 or 6 Land Rover branded radiators for that much.

Ive looked on ebay to see if I could find it and did not,....but there are others with 10 year warranties. Worth considering in my opinion.

FCP euro also run a lifetime warranty on parts as well. Got my rad from them, as well as a bunch of other parts.

Good to hear its working out!

I like the sound of a 100 dollar radiator that works. I've had many 200 dollar radiators fail within a half year or so...I think any new radiator now days is a gamble. Pretty much all over seas junk, that you can't easily repair.

I'm running a 100.00 Ebay wonder in my 99 D2 that I removed from my 03 D2 parts truck. They had just replaced it before the head gaskets went out.

I too compared it to the original LR unit that was still in my 99 D2. It was identical with the exception of beefier looking Transmission cooler fittings. It's been 6 months now and in the SETX Summer Heat with zero issues. I did slap on an OEM Grey LR Thermostat at the same time I did the radiator swap.

Now days with radiators and their plastic tanks if it starts leaking you replace it. Not worth trying to have it repaired. The only radiators I'd ever try to repair would be a RRC or D1 with a brass radiator.
