Shopping for a Disco for myself and my friend i've come across three general types.

First is the immaculate condition, always LR dealer serviced, tons of money spent and therefore they want a ton of money.

Second is the lady driven to work and back, moderately taken care of but it needs a MAJOR repair to be put back on the road, usually a headgasket, slipped liner or blown tranny. Body and frame are usually in great condition (for Canada). Tons of these trucks on kijiji all day long for $1000 to $2000.

I bought a 2000 D2 for $500 with a blown engine...the entire thing was covered in every single possible fluid the engine bay holds. Interior, body and frame though are great.

The third is a lifted, modified truck that from 20ft away looks like a good buy. Until you look at the frame, body. Its absolutely disgusting seeing those rotting POS even considered by their sellers to be road worthy and not a parts truck or junkyard special, and yet the sellers want $4000+ because it has an ARB bumbers and a homemade roof rack and a snorkel.

Saw a truck like that yesterday....Body is totally rotting off, frames got holes, rear of rear fenders are flapping in the breeze because the support material has rotten off, even the alu doors are so rotten than the outer and inner skins have seperated.

Then he has the ***** to tell me that unless i go south i'm not gonna find a 99 disco in better shape, when theres a nice one in my driveway....and that "if a rover V8 is not leaking it means its out of fluid, ha ha ha..." I'm somehow supposed to find that funny?
