$2500 for head gasket repair?

Just my input, the dealer told me 2 years ago I needed head gaskets. It turned out I was only leaking out of the throttle body. If you're not sure the head gaskets are leaking, I would fix the throttle body myself and see if you still have a leak. Could also be from the valve covers too. Dealers are quick to throw the old head gasket replacement out there.

I'll get the dealer to pressure test it, just to verify the independent's diagnosis.
Maybe I'll get lucky.

The LR dealer in Birmingham, AL wanted over $4000.00 to do a head gasket repair on my 99 Disco II and that was after $2000.00 worth of catalytic converter repairs. They didn't notice the head gasket problem until AFTER the other repairs. I purchased the parts, including new hoses, had the radiator checked and 3 days of my sweat equity had the Rover running like a charm. I will NEVER use the LR dealer again.
