You might wanna check out treadwright.com. They are retreads, and as cheap as tires go.. I have been running the 245/75/16 mtg's, which are basically the goodyear mud terrains, and they have been great so far, and I paid around $80 a peice. They also come with a warranty, for around 20,000 miles i believe.

You cant judge tire life by the tread pattern.
Those Cooper S/T's are the longest lasting tire I have yet to have on my work van, BFG A/T's, maybe 6 months, the S/T's over 9 months.

You're going to have a hard time with $600. The General Grabber and Bridgestone Dueler Revo were the cheapest I found at about $130 per tire in 245/75. Close though.

Shop around online, I bought mine online, free shipping, mounting and balancing was $80.
I came out total $550.
Talk to your local tire shops too.
Go the manufactures web site and check for rebates too.
AK Rover really likes the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac but they were $1000 for a set.

My uncle is in the tire business so I generally get 20% discounts. I was considering treadwright.com tires as one of his shops is a budget tire and they carry treadwright retreads and are supposedly like new tires. I just need tires to last me a year or so until I'm done with school and start working again.

I'm runnin 245/75 Cooper S/T, and I love 'em. Almost no noise on road, and in mud the do nearly as well as my m/t's. Havent tried 'em in snow, just got them this spring. After 7-8k miles, there is almost no noticible tread wear. Think I paid bout $135/piece mounted & balanced.
