Default **URGENT INPUT REQUESTED** HP24 Transmisssion Output Shaft Play - please see video

My Disco is in a friend's shop who is swopping out a worn transfer case for me. We noticed the HP24 transmission output shaft has some play. Please see video.

We are seeing about 60-thousand play at the 1" end of the shaft. We are thinking this is okay and we can go ahead and install the new transfer case. The reasoning is the transmission and transfer case as a unit should not cause any issue with the play. There are an old post in AULRO which indicated the play is actually acceptable:

The Disco is currently taking up the lift space in his shop. Hence, the urgency. Can I get thoughts on the play in the shaft please?

Thanks in advance.

I installed an AW4 transmission in a jeep and the input shaft had a considerable about of play. Everything worked and it seemed that was normal. I have no idea if it is normal on land rover TC's but I am inclined to believe it may be fine.

I have a Hp24 on my bench from an 03 that had ~130k miles on it. There is roughly the same amount of play in the output shaft as your video. The transmission worked “fine” before it was pulled.
