01 D2 Radio Problem
hey again. ok so the day my driveshaft went, my radio (not h/k, it's the alpine head unit) stopped working. basically the tape deck and cd player work, but for FM/AM there's only static (engine noise, dependent on given throttle). Best guess: antenna unplugged. Reality: it's not.
is there a short in the antenna line or a fuse for the antenna? the book indicates about 6 different "radio" fuses. i guess i could just start pulling them and find out.
i know about roverville, i just can't get my truck down there any time soon.
i'm about to swap it out for a new pioneer deck and forget about radio.
thanks all!

hey all. tore open the dash today and discovered two problems:
1. the extender plug for one of the antennas was unplugged. reconnected, problem still existed. static engine noise, radio will scan, but not settle on any stations but the one it started on, so i determined that it was a tuner issue.
2. went to cartoys (advice not purchasing haha) and the nice man informed me that since it's a split antenna feed, they both receive fm/am, and the head unit has a switcher that constantly is switching between the two, selecting the best signal for that station. dun broke. it might be as simple as a fuse, but i need to check all 7 of them first to make that decision. so! either the head's toast or it's repairable.
if you run into this problem, i hope this helps!
