I still think a bypass shock is what we want. Single rate shocks allow a lot more body roll.

For some one doing 95% of their driving on the road, a by pass shock is a waist of money.

Depends how you set it up really, they're used in on-road applications as well. Bypassed right it could make a huge difference. Not suggesting he buy a set though, it's far too expensive.

OK. After reading your recommendations, I thinking going this way: Ceramic pads, leave the rotors alone, Bilsteins for the best ride, OME hd springs (if I do them).

One last question. Upgrade the brake lines. Yes or no? I'll be flushing brake fluid anyway.

If you're not changing rotors (I really would, it makes a huge difference) then go with an EBC Green or Yellow pad, they come with a break-in compound that will help them mate to the disc. You could see if you can turn yours though, but the DBA really do give better friction. Yes, go with stainless lines (EE has them) they're more durable, won't balloon and are basically trouble-free. Changing the shortlines is up to you, I did but I did it on short notice and paid too much because I allowed the shop to source them.

If you are going to a lift, are you going to be adding a bumper and or winch? Makes a difference when deciding on what coils to buy.
If you are going to be keeping the truck, yes, replace the brake lines, the rubber one start failing with time. Consider using Vavolines synthetic brake fluid, you'll need nearly 2 quarts.

I don't see a winch or bumper in the future. I'll probably keep this truck 3 or 4 years. Unless, I have a newerone traded in that's cheap.

OME's don't come in hard medium or soft, they come as standard, which don't hold up well or Heavy duty which you really want to handle the weight of your truck.

Actually, as you can see from this excerpt from WCB's website, for the D-I they do come in HD, Med orSoft. But the D-II is only available in Med or Soft. [sm=owned.gif]
