Question 02 disco II audio questions

if this is the wrong place, please move to correct forum

Recently we picked up a 02 disco Westminster Ed. It has the Harman Kardom audio and navigation System in it. Ive done some looking around and I read somewhere that is was a re-badged Becker Traffic Pro HU.

I've seen that I can get a setup from GROM to have all the bells and whistles which would connect to the 6 disc changer under the passenger seat, but I dont know if it compatible with the system I have the disco now, as the diagram on there shows nothing but the alpine HU.

I have a Grom, and while I don't have an answer to your question, I can tell you that Grom has good customer service so if you email or call them I am sure they will help you.

One thing to check is if the Grom unit you put in puts a draw on your battery. Mine did, so I re-wired it to a different fuse. There is a thread on it.

I found out the hard way that the Grom doesn't fit with anything but Alpine. It sounds like I have your unit, but not badged as HK. Grom really tried to sort me out, but it wasn't possible.

Agreed they have great customer service. Maybe shoot them a message with your unit specs. Just to be sure.

@cappedup and collierover

thanks for yall's help on this and I just got done talking to the guys over at GROM as well.
Seems my search will continue to find a way to add in a AUX / iphone / Bluetooth connectivity.

Cables which go from your blue cd changer plug socket to iPod jack are easy to get. It's what i did. I really wanted te phone answering, Bluetooth stuff but at least I have my tunes on.

Something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HQRP-Audio-c...MAAOSwGzlTvWTy
